I make films, shoot photos and make your vision reality.
I've been known as Sharpy for most of my career, as my surname was Sharp, but in 2020 I got married and took my wife's name, hence now Roger Marsh.
I've been making a living through photography and travelling for 25 years and love to create. Be it stills, filmmaking, words or in the edit bay. I've edited magazines and contributed to mags, newspapers, websites and books all over the world and had a few bits on TV.
It's been tough in the pandemic year to shoot surfing so I've been keeping the creative juices flowing on projects closer to home. Enjoy having a tootle around the site and check out photos, films, prints and recent shoots in the blog at the bottom of the page.
As a brand new secondary academy, getting the tone and quality of our marketing materials right was imperative. Roger strikes the balance between professional direction, warmth and good humour when working with staff and pupils alike and the end product is of a professional standard it is difficult to achieve in the education sector – I heartily recommend Roger to you for your next project without reservation.
Michael McCulley, Principal, Houlton School, Warwickshire
Roger has worked with speed and efficiency at North Bromsgrove. He is creative, courteous and absolutely understood how to represent our core values as a school. I highly recommend him.
Mr Nick Gibson, Headteacher, North Bromsgrove High School
The children and staff of North Bromsgrove School are to be congratulated on their respectful tribute for Remembrance Day. Despite the Covid-19 pandemic they have prepared a wonderful film which obviously demanded a great deal of time and dedication.
Peter Hart - Oral Historian, Imperial War Museum.
I've been shooting photos since the late nineties and made my living from it for the last 20 years. Surfing and the surf industry has been by main focus for a lot of that time but I can turn my mind to most avenues. I've been doing a lot of work for schools recently and have a current enhanced DBS. The gallery page features a range of my surf, music, school and industry work.

I shoot with a Sony A7R3 which produces lush 42MP high resolution images along with Sony prime GM glass. In the water I use Aquatech housings and, even though regs mean you don't need to qualify anymore, I passed a proper drone course and held a PfCo for years.
I've been making edits for a decade and I love the process of filming, editing and polishing a film until it's just right. I've done work for surf brands like Rip Curl, O'Neill and C-Skins and my footage has been on Channel 4 and the BBC. It seems like a lifetime ago that I was having fun with a Canon 7D and iMovie. I'm now a Final Cut Pro guy and have glass from 24mm to 600mm, a drone, gimbal, in water gear and a range of microphones. So I can shoot most areas of interest.
I've got a subscription to Epidemic Sound so films for clients come with rights cleared music for your YouTube or socials.
I'm very much a technician when it comes to design. Getting the information across clearly is my aim, not showing off my art chops and burying your message. It comes from a life working in magazines and working with typography that needs to be read. After all if it's illegible it might look great but the message is lost.
Magazines, brochures, posters, murals and adverts I've done a whole range of work.
Over the last 20 years as a photographer, writer, editor, designer and filmmaker it's been my privilege to work with a lot of good people.
From trying to make an advert shoot with an 80-year old surfer work for Channel 4 to walking a marathon while shooting music festivals all the way to doing copy for brands and publishers it's all been fun. I'm happiest up to my neck in the sea but I'm more than happy to consider any project.
